If you’re an Etsy seller, then you probably ask yourself what Etsy tags should I use? In this post I’ll explain the tags to use on Etsy.
When listing items for sale on Etsy, it’s important to use tags that accurately describe the item and make it easy for buyers to find.
Here are a few tips for using tags on Etsy:
- Use keywords that accurately describe the item: Include words that describe the item’s color, material, size, and style. For example, “handmade,” “leather,” “vintage,” “pink,” “large,” etc.
- Use specific tags: Instead of using general tags like “jewelry” or “clothing,” use specific tags like “necklace,” “earrings,” “dress,” “shirt,” etc.
- Use brand names and designer names: If the item is made by a specific brand or designer, include that in the tags.
- Use season and holiday tags: If your item is suitable for a specific season or holiday, include those tags.
- Use location-based tags: If the item is made in a specific location, include that in the tags.
- Use variations of the keywords: Use different variations of the keywords, for example “leather earrings” and “genuine leather earrings”
- Use all 13 available tags: Each listing has a maximum of 13 tags, so make sure you use all of them to increase the chances of your item being found.
By using relevant and accurate tags, you can increase the visibility of your items and make it easier for buyers to find them. Keep in mind that tags are one of the factors that Etsy’s search algorithm uses to match items with search queries, so using the right tags can help improve your search rankings.
